In China:

With my creative and innovative teaching methods, my class students gradually improved their test grades. At the beginning of 2015, out of 25 students in my senior-2 (11th grade) class students, 16 of them were below average and they were facing a hard time getting pass grades and scoring high grades on the tests. After attending my classes and following my instructions they gradually began to improve their scores in the class tests and term tests. At the end of the year, all the below-average students scored more than 60% in Mathematics and English. So my class average result raised up from 50% to 80% which was a very good improvement in the students’ exam results. In addition to these incredible results, the student’s behavior and attendance were also improved. In 2015, among 25 students, 18 of them enrolled in the top colleges in the USA. In the year 2016, out of 30 students from the senior-2 (11th grade) class, 25 students enrolled in the top universities in Western countries. In the year 2017, out of 28 students, 25 students enrolled in the top universities. So every year the students’ results were improving gradually and 90%of my students enrolled in Western universities. Because of my innovative and creative teaching methods, students changed their behavior and learned many good qualities. These behavior changes were the stepping stones to improve their qualities in their lives.

My students have been honored by various organizations for their achievements.

  1. Name of the student: Coco Bean (English Name)

Coco Bean’s WeChat ID: JYY_Coco119

Name of the senior high school studied: ShiShi High School, Chengdu, China.

Name of the teacher: Dr. Isaac Devakumar

Subject taught: AP Calculus BC

Coco Bean was my student at ShiShi High School, Chengdu during the academic years 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. She was a transfer student from another school in China. As she encountered lots of challenges in her previous school, where she studied, she decided to transfer to another school. So she transferred to ShiShi High School in the year 2017. Even after she was transferred to ShiShi High School, she felt isolated in the classroom and felt uncertain about her future. Moreover, she didn’t have any clear goals for her future studies. I started teaching her AP Calculus and in due course, I figured out all the challenges she had been facing in her past. So I decided to help her out in her studies and career. As a first step, I counseled her by establishing high expectations and clear goals. I guided her with lots of strategies and tips to overcome her challenges and develop her skills. I also provided her with lots of guidance for her higher studies. Moreover, I encouraged her to have confidence in her skills and potential in order to achieve her goals. As a result of my motivation and guidance, she started feeling more confident and became the topmost student in my class. Because of my effective teaching, she scored 5 in AP Calculus BC and was accepted by one of the prestigious universities in the USA. I am very glad that I was able to produce a hopeless student into the topmost student. Following are the pieces of evidence for Coco’s achievements.

2. Name of the student: JIAHAO HE (Chinese Name)

Name of the senior high school studied: Great Wall High School, Baoding, China.

Name of the teacher: Dr. Isaac Devakumar

Subject taught: Statistics and Economics

Jiahao He was my student in 10th grade at Great Wall High School in 2019. I had been his Statistics and Economics teacher. He was an intermediate student who had a language barrier and he was not able to understand my teaching through English. So I decided to help him to overcome the language barrier. For that, I redesigned the course curriculum according to his level of understanding. I provided him with lots of easy study materials in order to make his learning easier. Moreover, I taught him many short-cut techniques to understand math calculations easier. In fact, I taught him lots of Vedic Maths methods which were liked by him. I also taught him many concepts through activities, the PBL method, and many more innovative ways. My effective teachings made him improve his academic performance in class. In due course, his test scores increased. Moreover, I paid keen attention to his holistic development. I identified his math talents and skills and wanted to make him participate in an international competition. So, I started to train him for the international math competition. As math doesn’t need more language skills, I trained him with lots of innovative and effective methods in order to make him score high grades in the competition.

In 2019, I trained my 10th-grade students to take part in the Beaver Computing Challenge, an International computing challenge conducted by The CENTRE for EDUCATION in MATHEMATICS and COMPUTING of the University of Waterloo. 18 of my 10th-grade students participated in the International Competition and 13 of them (72% of students) ranked in the top twenty-five percent of contestants. Jiahao He was one of the participants in the competition. In this photo, Jiahao He is standing in the first place from the left in the front row and I am standing in the fourth place from the left in the first row.

On observing his skills in Beavers Computing, I decided to train him more in order to make him a topper in the competition. So again, I started training him for the MATH KANGAROO competition.

In 2020, I made him take part in the MATH KANGAROO, a National level Competition conducted by ASDAN, China. Out of 13 students who participated in the competition, JIAHAO HE won the Proficiency Award of the year 2020. That was a great achievement not only for him but also for me and for our Great Wall High School. I am very proud that I was able to produce an intermediate student to achieve the top rank in an international competition. Following this achievement, I have counseled and guided him for his future achievements and higher studies.

This photo was taken with JIAHAO HE when he won the Proficiency Award of 2020 in MATH KANGAROO. In this photo, JIAHAO HE is standing in third place from the left and I am in second place from the left. The rest of them are my colleagues.

This is a testimonial from Jagathguru, my former 12th-grade student from India.

I was a Mathematics teacher for Jagath Guru during his 10th, 11th, and 12th Grades. When I started teaching him Mathematics, he was hopeless and uncertain about his future career. He was in a confused stage about his studies. Within a few days, since started teaching him, I figured out all of the challenges and difficulties that he was encountering. So, I decided to help him out in his studies and future career. I started teaching Mathematics through lots of innovative ways along with Vedic Mathematics methods and guided other subjects too. I taught him Mathematics with many activities and games in order to make his learning easier. I also took more extra hours in coaching him for the final examination. As a result of my effective teaching and motivation, he got high scores in the 12th-grade final examination. Following his completion of 12th grade, I counseled and guided him in his higher studies. As a result, he got admission to the Bachelor of Engineering course at Vellalar Engineering College, Erode, and graduated with higher grades. Later he got good employment opportunities in reputed companies in India and the USA. Currently, he has been living in the USA with his blessed family and with a good job. I am very proud of Jagath Guru, that he was able to achieve the greater things in his life because of his hard work. I am glad that I was an instrument in his development, personal growth, and career.
