I started a Vocational Educational Institution

In 2009, I started a Vocational Educational Institution for my students by the name IDK Educational Institution (IDK stands for Isaac Deva Kumar) affiliated to BSS, (Bharat Sevak Samaj), the National Development Agency promoted by the Government of India to provide vocational education and training to my students. I enrolled students and offered them the Diploma in Montessori and Child Education, Diploma in Primary Education, Post Diploma in Computer Applications, Tailoring, Medical Lab Technician, Nursing assistant course and etc.,

As most of my students were not able to pay tuition fees for the courses, in late 2009, I started a project called “Learn while Earn Project” in my Institution. In this project, I enrolled 10th and 12th-grade graduate students from my Institution and offered them part-time jobs while being a student of my Institution. I offered them part-time jobs such as receptionist, cleaner, tutor, marketing manager, marketing assistant, lab assistant and etc., I compensated their wages to the tuition fees for their courses and helped them graduate the courses. I collected nominal fees from the students who could afford it. As BSS certificates are approved by the Indian Government, I approached many Educational Institutions, Hospitals, Medical Laboratories, and many companies around our city and placed them in the jobs. I also became a BSS skill school coordinator in order to provide skill training to my students and community. As I am well versed in tailoring, I taught tailoring to more than 200 students (100 girl students, 50 parents, and 50 boy students) from 2009 to 2010.

I have committed to closing the skills gap in India.

Since 2009, I have enrolled 4,000+ students and of which graduated 60% are women with a target to reach 80% women in the next three years in order to give gender equality to women in India.

To date, over 80% of the graduates have earned employment opportunities locally and globally through my Institution and the website that I created. My Institution has been able to offer a viable alternative to students unable to afford to study at Colleges and Universities.

80% of students who enroll in my Institution are unemployed at the time they apply, and obtain employment within 12 months of graduating with an average starting salary of 8,000 INR to 10,000 INR after graduating.

I provide placement training online and offline to all my students in order to prepare them for job interviews and placements.

Later in 2014, I also started a Community College in our town Erode to provide more vocational training and Allied health Education Diploma courses to my students and to the public. The name of the community college that I started was BSS Community College, affiliated with BSS, the National Development Agency Promoted by the Government of India. As most of the students I taught were from very poor family backgrounds and were not able to continue their higher education in regular colleges, I started this Community College for the benefit of my students. I did not collect any course fees from the students who come from poor family backgrounds and are not able to afford to pay the fees. But from the students who could afford the course fees, I collected nominal fees from them to meet all the expenses of my community college. Moreover, as I was offering Allied Health Education courses in my college, with my powerful influence in the public, I got the opportunity to my students in many private and government hospitals, medical companies, and pharmacies around our town to undergo training and get employment therein. Through this Community College, I was able to serve hundreds of people in our state Tamilnadu by providing them with Diploma courses. As I am being an expert soft skill and personality development trainer, I used to train my students at the end of the diploma courses in my community college, so that they might be well prepared to attend the interviews or competitive exams for employment. I got job opportunities for my students right after they graduated from my Community College. I am proud to say that I am the very first person in our town Erode to start BSS Community College for the first time. There did not exist any Community College in my town until I started in the year 2014. I got employment opportunities for 90% of my community college students in medical firms.
